Evan Bailey

Detroit Executive Board President

Evan D. Bailey is the Group Practice Director for General and Bariatric Surgery at Henry Ford Health System. In this role, he’s responsible for product line growth and strategy while also spearheading initiatives to improve patient satisfaction, quality, and access to care. Prior to his current role, Bailey worked in various capacities throughout Henry Ford Health System. Most recently, he completed the Administrative Fellowship Program with Henry Ford Medical Group. Before that, Evan worked as a project manager and intern to the health system CEO.
Bailey is a native of Kansas City, Missouri. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business of Administration from Florida A&M University, School of Business and Industry. Evan is a product of the Bluford Healthcare Leadership Institute, started by John W. Bluford, and has been a member of NAHSE for 2 years. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, good BBQ and sports.

Audrey E. Smith

Detroit Immediate Past President

Audrey E. Smith has developed a 28-year career servicing the health needs of Michigan communities by becoming an expert in health care delivery systems. Audrey started her career as an administrator at the Henry Ford Health System in the Department of Pediatrics.
Audrey used her knowledge & experience to start her own business called the Angel Engagement Group, which partnered with healthcare plans to improve the health and well-being of children & families. After a successfully running her business for ten years, Audrey became the General Manager of Detroit’s Public Health Department. She then was the Director of Integrated Health Services for the Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority.
Audrey is currently the Chief Operating Officer for the Family Medical Center of Michigan (FMC). Under her leadership, FMC successfully implemented 11 school based behavioral health centers and medication assisted treatment services to reduce the opioid epidemic crisis in rural Michigan communities. She was recently featured on NPR Stateside.
Audrey obtained a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Michigan. She received her Bachelors of Science from Michigan State University. Audrey is married to Curtis D. Smith and has two adult children.

Ashley T. Cane, MHA

Detroit Executive Board Treasurer

Ashley T. CaneAshley T. Cane is a graduate of Emory University with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience & Behavioral Biology (2016) and a graduate of The George Washington University's Master of Health Administration program (2020). Located at Trinity Health's system office in Livonia, Michigan, starting in June 2019 Ashley served as a Management/Administrative Fellow in Trinity Information Systems (TIS) –Clinical/Revenue Applications. In November 2020, Ashley transitioned out of the Trinity Health Fellowship Program and began her new role within TIS as Manager of Product Management – Clinical Services. Ashley manages 6 product lines (i.e., Continuing Care, Nursing, Physician Services, Population Health, Quality and Analytics) encompassing a portfolio of 162 IT applications and serves as the clinical liaison to the Digital Health service line. In this role Ashley supports the development of product strategy, vision and roadmaps that align with the architecture and technology direction of the business unit, consistent with enterprise priorities, and in agreement with product-line business owners.
Ashley is passionate about the world of healthcare – being a part of a culture that promotes wellness, treats illness, and prevents disease as well as using technology to improve access and increase quality of healthcare. Her career goals include reaching the C-suite of a health system, and to own/operate her own IT/healthcare firm. Ashley plans to be a game changer in the administration, strategic management and decision making of quality healthcare.

Imani Adegbuyi, MHA, CPC

Detroit Executive Board Parliamentarian

Imani AdegbuyiImani Adegbuyi is a native of Queens, NY. She is a God-fearing, Nigerian-American woman and passionate leader with heart for and advocacy and equity in all she does.
Imani spent the formative years of her life in Maryland where she also completed her Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration and Policy with a minor in Social Welfare from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She then went on to complete her Master of Health Administration at Penn State University. Imani completed her administrative fellowship at Henry Ford Health System, where she is currently the Director of the School-Based and Community Health Program.
Over the years, Imani has enjoyed being a member of NAHSE, serving in the Baltimore, Delaware Valley, and Detroit Chapters, as well as on the national Young Professionals Committee. Imani is also a proud member of Alpha Nu Omega Sorority, Incorporated. Recently, Imani also completed her life coach certification and launched her coaching business. In her spare time, Imani also loves to sing, dance, and travel.
